Видимо Старовоский никаких "арабов" не знает, так как слово считается заимствованным с французкого. А у жидов патриарх сидит в Греции.
Так что Вашкевич убедительно установил глубокое родство с жидами.
Кстати Старовоский записывает "мосхеа" (мечеть), а "машиах" (спаситель) стали произносить через "а" и "и" только после конвенции об ивритском произношении - записывается это просто МШХ , где шин с точкой переходит в С.
